Why do Spiralock Gages cost more that standard 60° gages?

Several factors should be taken into account:

1. Spiralock gages are not mass produced; consequently, they cost more than standard gages.

2. Additional manufacturing operations which have a greater degree of difficulty are required to produce Spiralock gages.

3. A three-member gaging system is used for the majority of Spiralock threads as compared to a two-member gaging system (GO and NOT-GO) for standard threads.

4. Great care is taken by Spiralock Corporation to build high quality gages with standards traceable to the National Institute of Standards & Technology.

How much do Spiralock tools cost in comparison to standard tools?

Spiralock tools cost more than standard tools, however, in most cases the extra expense is offset by the added benefits of using this unique thread form. In fact, after factoring in the elimination of another locking device, subtracting the labor for applying it and reducing the inventory cost for stocking it, Spiralock can often offer substantial cost savings.
