Company enhances management team for customers of its alternative thread form, designed to solve fastener loosening and stripping problems with superior resistance to shock, load, vibration, and thermal extremes

February 2, 2005 - Spiralock Corporation, a thread locking solutions company based in Madison Heights, Mich., has announced the hire and promotion of several senior executives, due to domestic and international expansion.  This is to better serve customers of its alternative thread form, which addresses fastener loosening and stripping problems with exceptional resistance to shock, load, vibration, and thermal extremes, along with streamlined assembly and maintenance.

Following increased global sales of 75% over the last three years under Jim Gillis as Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Spiralock has promoted him to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.  Gillis had reorganized the company to better support key industries from aerospace, defense, and automotive to appliance, medical, and energy, achieving record domestic and international sales each year and opening subsidiaries in China and Brazil.  Gillis has an MBA and BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.

The company has promoted Arlindo Marques Filho, formerly Chief Engineer and General Manager of Spiralock Brazil to Chief Engineer of Spiralock Europe.  Marques will help oversee the company’s new state-of-the-art facility in the UK office for clients such as Ford, Volvo, Rolls Royce, Biomet Merck, TVR Engineering, and Thales Electronics. Marques was instrumental in starting the Spiralock Brazil subsidiary.  He has an MBA and BS in Mechanical Engineering, and is fluent in Italian, Portuguese, and English.

For his experience in managing domestic and international operations, the company has hired Jose Starosta as the new General Manager of Spiralock Brazil.  Prior to this position, Starosta was a partner in a $150 million a year strategic consulting and management company; Vice President of a $70 million a year manufacturer of special wires and alloys; and Program Manager and South American Director for a $30 million a year consulting firm.  Starosta has an MBA in Finance, a BS in Civil Engineering, and is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and English.

For better joint integrity as well as streamlined assembly and maintenance, manufacturers in a range of industries - including BAE, Boeing, NASA, Caterpillar, and Mack Trucks - are turning to Spiralock’s unique thread form.  Making a quick, seamless production changeover usually just requires an exchange of traditional nuts, taps, or wire inserts.

Spiralock Corporation is AS 9100 - ISO 9001:2000 certified, with thousands of fastening applications worldwide in fractional and metric sizes, and subsidiaries in Europe, China, Mexico, and South America.
